Acrylic on Canvas - 20 x 10
Paint Pour Experiment #1 is an original, acrylic paint pour painting, and part of the mixed-media glitter series, created in 2018-2019.
The painting was completed in a series of stages, creating unique textures, and enhancing the beauty of this painting.
- Stage 1: Initial pouring medium with base colors are poured over the canvas, and moved about by shifting the canvas, and using a hair dryer to move the paint about.
- Stage 2: Additional layers of colors are then poured on the canvas in much of the same way, with added texture of loose glitter, as well as glitter glue to outline shapes.
- Stage 3: Once painting is dried, a layer of glaze pouring medium is brushed over top, and left to dry. Because of the glitter glue gun outlines, crackles are formed in various placed of the canvas where this technique occurred, enhancing the uniqueness of the painting.
The process to create this painting takes about 3 to 5 days to complete. The painting can be hung with or without framing.
The addition of glitter used in the painting is a tribute to my mother, who passed away in September of 2017.
Paint Pour Experiment #1 is considered the nineteenth painting in the mixed-media glitter series, created by Deborah Marsh of Debbie's Living Canvas.
